Bicycle Parts Compatibility

Do you offer pickup / delivery?

BCV provides convenient pickup and delivery services in Fredericksburg, VA, and nearby areas. This option is typically available for full tune-ups, groupset upgrades, or other extensive repairs. Pickup and delivery are included with any combination of services totaling $140 or more. Custom arrangements for bicycle service can also be accommodated—just reach out!

What’s your turnaround time?

Race tune-ups and related services that don’t require new parts can be completed promptly based on your needs. For urgent requests, mobile race tune-ups are available. If parts are being ordered or are in transit, the work is scheduled to be finished within a day of their arrival.

What if I have something like a brake that needs to be bled or I banged my derailleur on a rock and now it’s shifting funny?

I can perform services like hydraulic brake bleeds, race tunes, derailleur alignments, shifting adjustments and tube/tubeless tire setups mobile at your location.  I am equipped to do these services with the same quality as in my shop.

What if I’m looking at some super cool parts online and I’m wondering if they’ll work on my bike?

Blue Cog Velo is your go-to expert on parts compatibility, ensuring you know exactly what fits and what doesn’t. Give me a call at 826-249-2492 or send over some links via email, and I’ll guide you every step of the way to achieve your goal. If I can’t assist directly, I’ll gladly share alternative options to keep you on the right track.

Do you pack and ship bikes?

Absolutely. I will need the shipping label to be provided, along with insurance for the item’s value. If you have a box from a company like BikeFlights or a similar provider, I can use that. Otherwise, I can source the appropriate box and packing materials, which will be included in the price. Packing a bike and delivering it to the shipping store is $100 for most bikes. Certain bikes, such as time trial, triathlon, and full-suspension mountain bikes, may incur additional charges due to their size and complexity. Please note that BCV does not pack or ship electric bikes of any kind.

Speaking of electric bikes…. Do you work on them?

I can perform most bicycle related service on electric bikes as well as determine a diagnosis for the issues you’re having. Approved electric bikes with the following systems:  Bosch, Shimano STEPS, Brose, Specialized, THQ, and Fazua.

I bought a bike online from Bicycle Blue Book / Buycycle / Pinkbike.  Can you build it up?

Absolutely! Send an email to david@bluecogvelo.com, and we’ll arrange an appointment. During the build, we’ll take care of essentials like shifting, braking, headset preload, wheel truing, and bottom bracket inspection. The result? A finely tuned bike tailored to your exact specifications. We can also match fit measurements and install any additional parts you need.

Do you install Cush Core inserts?

Yep.  No problem. It’s included in the standard tubeless setup — no additional charge.
